Dave has been playing chess for about 35 years since he was 11. He was unable to join a club until he was 18 as the local club where he lived was in a pub which didn't allow children in otherwise he is adamant he would be world champion by now!

Dave works as a freelance computer programmer and lives in Cannock with his wife Tracey and her two children.

No one else in Dave's family plays chess as they think its as boring as his job so he has to get his chess fix down at the club!

When he is out playing chess, his famly have chocolate parties. They think he doesn't know this but he does.
